The SOCAT Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) along with TN Healthy Transitions is hosting a Transition to Independence (TIP) Model Training that is FREE for all to attend.
Best Practices in working with Transition-Age Youth: The TIP Model
This 2-day interactive workshop gets audiences thinking differently about how to work with transition-age youth (TAY) with mental health needs. Attendees will learn about key best practices for this age group, including the developmental differences in working with TAY and their families, ideas to incorporate into one’s current practices, and collaboration opportunities with other participants.
Through this workshop, participants will learn about the Transition to Independence Process, the only Evidence-Informed practice dedicated to TAY, along with the TIP Core Modules. The TIP Model is a framework designed to enhance your practices in helping young adults discover and capitalize on their strengths, better engage in services and goal planning, identify key figures in their life for support, and balance risk and reward on their way to building a life into adulthood. This workshop will use discussion, music, video, games, and other activities to spark participants’ ideas on how to build upon and adjust ones’ work with TAY.
