QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Training – Memphis

This free training is hosted by the SOCAT Training and Technical Assistance Center.
Suicide is everyone’s business, and anyone can learn three life-saving skills that can help save a life. QPR is not intended to be form of counseling or treatment but mimics CPR for suicide prevention. QPR is intended to offer hope through positive action, and teach those who are in a position to recognize the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communications of people in trouble to respond and connect the person at risk to supports they may need.
This evidence-based training course teaches individuals how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, offer hope to people in crisis, and get help to save a life. It is suitable for people with little to no mental health background.
What you can expect to learn from this course:
- Question… ask the question about suicide
- Persuade… the person to help and,
- Refer… connect the person to resources
Attendees will receive a certificate with 2 contact hours (not CEU’s)
Snacks and refreshments will not be provided, so please bring your own.
