CARE Model Training – Nashville
September 14, 2018 @ 8:30 am CDT - 5:00 pm CDT
The SOCAT Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) is hosting a CARE Model Training that is FREE for all to attend.
Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) is a trauma-informed, field-initiated modification of specific child relationship enhancements that are based in evidence-based parenting programs. While CARE uses many of the same ideas and skills that are part of these programs, it is not therapy.CARE is simply a way for any adult to interact with any child. It teaches a set of skills for relating and building relationships. Through CARE, the child-adult relationship can be enhanced in any setting and with a multitude of populations.
CARE provides skill-building opportunities in a playful environment for health, social service, education, and advocacy professionals working with children and families by teaching interactional skills that result in positive outcomes for children. By integrating didactic, multimedia, and experiential components throughout the workshop, participants are taught a set of specific, innovative, and evidence-based skills known to improve adult-child relationships. In this fun and interactive workshop, techniques are discussed, practiced in dyads, and exemplified in a series of activities, including presenter and video demonstrations, large-group activities, small group break-outs, and individual coaching from presenters as participants practice skills. Participants will be encouraged to apply the skills learned to their specific practical setting, creating a culture and partnerships that support children in developing healthy relationships.
